At best, this blog is a journal. At worst, it's one of those cable access shows from the 80s where any old coot could share their thoughts and air their grievances. Buckle up.When I first decided to start blogging again, I gave this thing a better name that meant something to me and sounded kinda cool. Then I just stared at the screen for weeks because nothing seemed to live up to something so personal. #excellentashventure was a hashtag I created for my travels and reminded me of my favorite, stupid movie - that seems to suit my blogging much better.
Anyway, I'm Ashley.
I'm a mom but this won't be a mom blog. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I have two sons, Ben and Evan, who are amazing, gorgeous, and ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything wrong, so you can count on stories but don't hold your breath for any good parenting tips.I'm a humanitarian in love with this world. I have my dream job, handling communications for an international humanitarian aid agency. Most of the time that means I'm chained to my desk. But sometimes, just sometimes, I get to travel to the farthest corners of the world and meet the kind of people who change your life forever.
I shouldn't have a blog. Yeeeaaah, about that. I ramble, I'm a terrible photographer, and my life has not been curated for online consumption. I'm not young, fashionable, or particularly cool in any way, but if you need a friend who communicates primarily through TV quotes and Tom Hardy gifs, we'll get along just fine.
